STEM Activities in the Primary Classroom

SESSION DESCRIPTION

In this session, participants will be walked through a variety of STEM activities in the primary classroom (K-3) for those wanting to design interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students. Ideas will be shared on setup, implementation and key resources for success. Connections to how such activities supports BC's revised curriculum will be explored.


PRESENTER BIO

@Amber_Hartwell is a library learning commons teacher (teacher-librarian) in School District #23. Her passion is transitioning libraries into 21st century learning spaces and integrating technology meaningfully into task design.


Jennifer Poole is a primary teacher in School District #23. She believes in play-based, hands-on learning opportunities for students that actively engage learners in the “thinking” behind the “doing”.
